Assistant Director

Join Our Team as an Assistant Director

Neighborhood Cooperative is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director to support our dynamic team. As an integral part of our leadership, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our students in a nurturing and innovative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director to ensure the effective operation and management of the preschool.

  • Support and mentor teaching staff to maintain high-quality educational standards.

  • Foster positive relationships with parents, caregivers, and the local community.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of engaging curriculum and activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field

  • EEC certification or working towards certification

  • Proven experience in a leadership or administrative role within a preschool setting.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of current early childhood education practices and regulations.

  • Passion for fostering a creative and inclusive learning environment.

Kindergarten teacher/ Preschool Teacher

Neighborhood Cooperative is seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Kindergarten Teacher to co-teach with our amazing Reading Specialist and a Preschool teacher for our youngest learners.

Requirements:

• In accordance with E.E.C. of Massachusetts and licensing regulations  

• Has valid Mass. State License to practice as a preschool Teacher/Lead Teacher or is actively working towards licensure

• Experience in an early childcare or school setting


Key Responsibilities:

Ability to encourage, nurture, inspire and respectfully partner with children, parents and staff

• Promote school mission, philosophy and culture both in and out of the classroom

• Be responsible for the health, welfare and safety of the children in your care

• Provide a supportive and caring environment that is kept appealing, orderly and clean

• Plan and implement a challenging and developmentally appropriate curriculum in accordance with the E.E.C. Guidelines and Standards, and the mission and goals of NCNS

• Provide predictable routines and transitions during the course of each day, with a balance of child-selected and teacher-initiated activities and indoor and outdoor play

• Accountable for understanding and adhering to all school policies, plans and procedures

• Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings, yearly Open House and Fall Orientation meetings

• Participate in Professional Development and training as mandated by E.E.C. guidelines

• Prepare Progress Reports twice yearly or more often as is mandated by state/town guidelines  

• Maintain the highest degree of professionalism and confidentiality of privileged information

• Be supportive and collaborative with colleagues and the Director and communicate openly, honestly and respectfully

Float teachers

Neighborhood Cooperative is seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Float Teachers to join our dynamic team. As a Float Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work across different classrooms, supporting our mission to provide a nurturing and engaging educational experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance to lead teachers in various classrooms.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for children.

  • Assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities.

  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and fellow faculty members.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework in early childhood education is a plus.

  • EEC certification or willingness to work towards certification

  • Previous experience working with young children in a classroom setting.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different age groups and classrooms.

  • Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering children's development.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
