Overview
Neighborhood Cooperative Nursery School is a parent-led cooperative preschool founded in 1969, dedicated to creating a positive and nurturing environment for our children. Our curriculum is play-based and often emerges from the interests and skill level of the children. We support the development of the whole child, built on a foundation of social and emotional skills.

We are a school of families, not just children, and all members learn and grow together within a supportive community. Parents assist in the classroom on a rotating basis, intimately sharing their children's first school experience.

We offer classes for children ages 2.9 to 5+ years and cap our classes at 12 children. There is an extended day option for each class. In addition, NCNS offers "Grow with Me," a program for children ages 24 - 36 months with a parent or caregiver.

Our facility includes three large classrooms and a fully-fenced playground built in 2010.  Our big "Bike Room" allows gross motor play in inclement weather and provides space for our weekly music and Kidstock! enrichment programs.

We strive to make environmentally-conscious choices in and outside the classroom.  To protect students with allergies, we are a nut-free school.  NCNS accepts children in diapers.

At NCNS, we continually evaluate our programs and adapt to our members' needs. Parents' involvement, feedback and leadership are crucial to making the school the best it can be!
