Neighborhood Notes 3/21/16

Hello Neighborhood Families,

Mother Nature is sneaking in one more snow day on us! It looks as though the temperatures are going to be on the rise throughout this week and into next so hopefully we'll be back to welcoming the crocuses and daffodils sooner than later!

Thank you to all who donated to our can drive for the Woburn Council of Social Concern. We collected over seven full bags of groceries!! The staff was so very appreciative of our community when we delivered the goods on Friday.

Last week we welcomed Ellen Goethel from Explore the Ocean World to our school. The children learned all about sea stars, oysters, hermit crabs, spiny crabs, and whales in this hands on presentation! She will be returning this week to meet with our 4's classes!

Last week Jackie's classes spent some time talking about what it means to be a good friend and we thought the answers were

priceless and worth sharing!

A GOOD FRIEND IS…
Someone who is good to you. Somebody who is courageous. Someone who is helpful. Someone who loving and super nice. Someone you like. Someone you like to play with. Someone who comes to your house. Someone you have a sleepover with. Someone who is funny and fun. Someone who shares. Someone who does things for you. Someone who you can learn together with. ~Jackie's AM Class

A GOOD FRIEND IS…
Somebody you love. Somebody who is nice. Someone who goes to school with you. Someone who brings you home. Someone you have play dates with. Someone you like and who likes you. Someone who parent-helps and brings you to your house after clean up. Someone who picks you up and brings you to your school before going to their school. Someone you play with. Someone who makes you treats. Someone who invites you to a party. Someone who goes to your house. Someone you have fun with. Someone who shares. ~Jackie's PM Class

In addition to learning all about the ocean and what it means to be a good friend, Neighborhood Children have been hard at work building giraffes, going on safaris, creating airplanes, and even welcoming a parent who is a Jet Blue Pilot to visit class during transportation week!
