To provide a safe, nurturing
environment in which each child can develop in his or
her unique and special way.
Neighborhood Cooperative Nursery School (NCNS) is a
cooperative, maintained and funded by the parents of the enrolled
children. Parents work as aides in the classroom, help maintain the
facility, raise money for equipment, serve on the Board of Directors
and other committees. Their efforts are augmented by a very fine staff.
In order to have a successfully functioning organization, it is
necessary for each family to participate.
Becoming involved in NCNS can be a very rewarding experience for
parents as well as for children. At NCNS, parents take an active role
in their child's growth and learning experience while also becoming
involved in the decision making process of the school. Furthermore,
each parent has an opportunity to share ideas, work closely with other
families in the cooperative and develop lasting friendships.
You need no special talents, education or abilities to participate in a
cooperative. If you have a desire to take part in your child's first
educational experience, are ready to learn and grow a little too, then
a cooperative nursery school is for you and your child.
