Toddler Program
The toddler program runs three sessions during the year, starting in October, January, and March. This is an eight-week, parent-child program for children 24- to 36-months old. (Note: Children must be 24-36 months old by the first day of each specific session.) Classes meet on Friday mornings from 9:30 am to 11:00 a.m. and includes free play, stories, crafts, and a snack. The cost for the eight-week session is $120.
3-Year-Old Class
This program is primarily focused on the development of social skills offering ample opportunity for interaction between children, and children and adults. The day is divided into gross motor/fine motor activities, free choice and group activities, including music, art, language, science, stories and snack. Our schedule is flexible so that we can respond to the needs and interests of the group.
There are two sections of the 3-year-old class. The 2-morning-per-week section is for children 2 years 9 months, though the early 3's. The 3-morning-per-week section is for children in the older 3's. Each section has up to 13 students, and has one teacher and one parent-helper.
4-Year-Old Class
The purpose of this class is to provide children with a warm, safe, and stimulating environment in which they can build friendships and pursue knowledge. Children spend time engaged in whole class activities, working as part of a small group and exploring independently. Topics of study usually stem from interests expressed by the children and activities generally relate to these themes. Activities are designed to promote the cognitive, social/emotional and physical development of each child. Art, language experiences, pretend play, gross and fine motor activities, building, music, snack and science experiments are some of the components which make up each week.
There are two sections of the 4-year-old class. The overall age range is from 3 years 6 months though the 4's, with the younger students in one section and the older students in the other. Each section runs 3 mornings per week, has up to 13 students, and has one teacher and one parent-helper.
AM Pre-K Class
This class expands the learning experience of the children in an environment that encourages exploration and independence. Curriculum is developed from the children's interests, and each child is able to construct knowledge at his/her particular level of understanding through exploration, self-expression and social interaction. Collaborative learning situations, using a wide range of materials to foster creativity, encourage interactive participation and socialization. Field trips and community walks are integral parts of this cooperative learning experience.
The Pre-K Class meets four mornings per week and is for children 4 years 6 months through the 5's. It has up to 13 students, and has one teacher and one parent-helper.
PM Pre-K Class
The Afternoon class is a mixed-age class for children 3 years 9 months through the 5's. It meets 4 afternoons per week. The Afternoon class has up to 13 students, and has one teacher and one parent-helper.
